As Tamarindo sees the largest surge of tourism and growth, security has become one of the highest priorities for ADIT.Â
Through a committee made up of neighbors and businessmen, led by ADIT, a program is created with the aim of ensuring community safety.
Created back in the early 2000s, this committee is a group of concerned members of the community that are eager to help develop the security program. In the meetings they brainstorm about funding, they discuss options and strategies for the management of the program Tamarindo Seguro, and also are the leaders of each neighborhood and help to create awareness among other people on the importance of prevention.

The ADIT team works in conjunction with the Police Force to ensure that the growth and surge of tourism has a positive impact rather than negative.
ADIT actively advicated for our community in meetings and secured financing for this project from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute and the Ministry of Public Security. The building was completed in January 2021.
Lead by our coordinator of security, a network of security officers, private guards, the police communicate regularly to keep our community safe. They collaboratively work together in the event of an incident.
In 2020, during the pandemic, ADIT managed to acquire, thanks to a donation from a businessman, a security app that allows you to report incidents or ask for help in an emergency, in order to prevent assaults and improve communication between neighbors and public institutions. The application costs $3,000 per year and is free for residents.
In December 2021, it was possible to offer the community motorized community security services, which involves 5 security officers who make tours from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am every day of the week. This has decreased home burglaries and assaults and has improved the perception of security among the inhabitants.
ADIT is made up of committed community members that feel a sense of responsibility for protecting the beauty of the place we call home to our families, business, and our guests.
